On Thursday 15th February 2024, Momogun National Congress (MNC) paid a courtesy call to Sabah Chief Minister YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Mohd. Noor at his office at Pusat Pentadbiran Negeri Sabah. The MNC entourage was led by its President Tan Sri Wences Angang and accompanied by Deputy Presidents Datuk Stephen Sampil, Datuk John Maluda and Mr. Pediman Jabau. Also in attendance were Vice-Presidents Dr. Rose Patsy Tibok, Ms. Marie Jouti and Ms. Melanie Annol, Honorary Secretary Mr Philix Laimon, Honorary Treasurer Ms. Victoria Kongi, Organising Secretary Ms. Lydia John, and Supreme Council members Mr. Monih Epin and Mr. Sylvester Disimon.
During the visit, the Chief Minister was briefed on the MNC push for the term “Momogun” to be adopted as the generic unifying umbrella for the Dusunic, Murutic and Paitanic groupings in Sabah. This is to avoid the local indigenous communities being arbitrarily classified as “Lain-lain” in the context of national statistics classifications. During the meeting, several proposals and requests by MNC and its network of Institutional Members were also presented to the Chief Minster for his consideration.
